Recognized Organizations



The GPSA recognizes organized groups of currently enrolled UNLV graduate & professional students that have a commitment to academics, diversity, leadership development, service and/or student involvement. To register or renew your group online go to the Connection Center and also complete these forms and return to the GPSA office, LLB 3251 (link to the Lied Library office). The GPSA does not provide funds to student organizations. However UNLV Student Life, is offering funding to UNLV students and student organizations that are working to promote interaction and awareness through programs that directly benefit the student body. The Board is awarding up to $750 per event for your group, organization, or an event you wish to hold. The funding request form has changed and is now an online application through
Org Sync. Follow this link and then click on "join", another screen will pop up and scroll down to Student Funding Board and from there you can either join Org Sync or submit your application by clicking the view button. Follow the instructions given on the homepage and you are on your way to receiving funding.

The funding request form has instructions, as well as lists the types of events this program is willing to fund. For additional information, contact Caroline El-Khoury on the third floor of the Student Union or at 895-2508.

Academy of LDS Dentists - UNLV School of Dental Medicine Student Chapter serves our communities by personally assisting students in their dental education and by enhancing professional skills, knowledge and professional association, while serving needy people worldwide.

American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry provides an opportunity for dental students interested in pediatric dentistry to network with one another, with current residents, with faculty, and with pediatric dentists in private practice; it provides a forum for the discussion of issues in pediatric dentistry, including current literature, classic literature, and issues in contemporary practice; and provides guidance for those interested in applying to post-graduate pediatric residency programs. American Student Dental Association is a national student-run organization which protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of students pursuing careers in dentistry. It represents students with a unified voice and provides information, education, advocacy and services. American Nuclear Society is devoted to students from any department who are interested in the nuclear field. For more information, contact: Jamie Warburton, President.

Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) encourages academic excellence within the African American community. For more information, contact: President Tarryn McGhie.

Chican/Latin Graduate & Professional Student Association's primary purpose is to serve the needs of Chicano/Chicana and Latino/Latina students and to encourage collaboration and exchange between other UNLV Graduate and Professional Student organizations. Its secondary purpose is to form and facilitate programs that address the needs of all UNLV graduate & professionals students, and in partnership to UNLV, to cultivate, empower, embrace, promote, and integrate professionalism and heritage from the realms of secondary to doctorate and professional level education within the pursuit of various interdisciplinary fields among the Institution therein, the community and all respective arenas. Diversity Dental Student Club The purpose of the club is to raise awareness and cultivate knowledge among School of Dental Medicine community of the different cultural, ethnic and religious groups and to represent minorities of the School in different local and national events. As well as provide support for those students. Organization will work on recruiting more minority applicants.

E. Steven Smith Student Honorary Dental Society promotes scholarship and professionalism and advances the highest standards of the dental profession through its members. For more information, contact: Ryan Toponce, President.

Educational Leadership Association shall assist graduate students, professionals and alumni in the field of Educational leadership with support offered for academic and professional endeavors. For more information, contact: John Haky, President.

India Graduate Student Association (Maitri) represents the Indian culture and promotes unity, amongst is its members. Santosh Kumar Chandavaram, President.

MBA Association is committed to providing its members with real-life experience in managing money and provides a public forum for business theories and practices. For more information contact: Steve Magnapit, President.

Movies that Matter Student Association was established to set a framework to bring important and timely documentaries and independent films to the student body of UNLV and the citizens of Las Vegas. Their intent is to connect the University with the broader Las Vegas public, spread awareness of significant social issues, and enhance the cultural milieu of both campus and community life. UNLV's Chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) operates exclusively for charitable, benevolent, scientific, literary, cultural and educational purposes, including but not limited to: advancing a philosophy of inclusion that embraces the basic tenets of cultural pluralism; promoting cultural and ethnic diversity as a national strength; fostering equity for all regardless of race, ethnicity, color, national origin, ancestry, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, socioeconomic status, marital status, language, disability, or immigration status. New Venture Club Student Association was established to create an entity in which students are given the opportunity to add an experiential element to their education by recruiting local speakers and working with entrepreneurial organizations in the Las Vegas area. Our intent is to connect the University with local companies in the Las Vegas community, spread awareness of the New Venture concentration and enhance the reputation of the program. Psychology Graduate Association's main goal shall be to promote the academic culture of research, teaching, and service to the broader University community. Aspiring to this goal, Experimental and Clinical doctoral students will collaborate to host programming including but not limited to: invited scholars and speakers, brown bag talks, journal club sessions and symposia. Psi Omega Dental Professional Fraternity, Upsilon Nu Chapter. The object of this fraternity shall be to maintain and advance the high standards of dentistry by instilling in its members the spirit of fraternal cooperation, and to exert its influence for the advancement of the dental profession it its methods of teaching, of practice, of research, of ethics. Public Administration Graduate Association exists to enhance the educational experiences of MPA students in the Department of Public Administration and the PhD students in the School of Public Affairs at UNLV by fostering communication among professionals, alumni, practioners, faculty and students wile providing services to assist students'educational and personal development. Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (SAMPE) ist he only technical society encompassing all fields of endeavor in materials and processes. SAMPE provides information on new materials and processing technology. As a student organization, UNLV SAMPE is dedicated to increasing its student members understanding of materials and process engineering.
